What people say
Sarah’s writing gets right to the heart of things. Her stories and plays are about the messiness of lives, written viscerally but with great humanity, I am a little bit jealous."

Sarah is a truly inspiring and creative workshop leader who shows great empathy for her students be they children, adults in challenging circumstances or the elderly. She is a key member of our workshop team at The Writers’ Block."

About me
I am a playwright living in Cornwall. I attended Luton University, and taught for twenty years in the primary sector. In 2019, I stepped away from a career in education to fulfil a long-held ambition to be a playwright. Since then, I have been shortlisted for the Papatango Playwriting Prize, Phil Fox Award, Nick Darke Cornish Award and the Theatre 503 International Playwriting Award for my play Pushing on Open Doors. The Bush Theatre have sponsored me to take part in Sphinx 30 Lab - a groundbreaking scheme championing women playwrights. Last year, my debut play, Tre, was performed across Cornwall, with other exciting projects lined up for 2024 and beyond.
